Blackpool Boat Angling Club

National Association of Boat Angling Clubs

Blackpool Boat Angling Club's tractor house is situated off the South Promenade, Blackpool, at the junction with Squires Gate Lane.  The club offers  safe easy launch access to the Irish sea at all states of the tide using its fleet of modern four wheel drive tractors.  

Membership

The membership is open to small boat owners and crew with boats in the 14ft to 18ft range.  New members receive  training in the safe operation of clubs tractors and how to launch and recover their boats from the beach.  The club does limit yearly boat numbers to ensure facilities are not overloaded.

As a founder member of the National Association of Boat Angling clubs (NABAC), memberships offers access to discounted seamanship training to the nationally recognised  RYA level II Powerboat standard.  Members with this qualification are entitled to qualify for the International Certificate of Competency (ICC) required in most EU countries  for operation of boats whilst abroad.

Fishing Matches

The club organises a number of fishing matches throughout the year.  These   matches, range from single specimen matches to species hunts.  Many of the matches attract sponsorship and prizes are generally available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Social Events

The club holds a social meeting on the second Thursday of every month at the Stanley Ward Conservative Club, Common Edge Rd, Blackpool, starting at 8:15pm.

Member trips to places of interest i.e. Boat shows, coastguard stations, RNLI stations, etc are also organised to add variety.

BBAC extends a warm welcome to all new members, any prospective members are welcome to come and check out our facilities, or come to our monthly meetings

Bi-monthly newsletters are produced and distributed to all members.  Members may advertise within the newsletter or on the website for items they may need or have for sale.
